Access Role Planner
Add your team and get a clear plan of who should get which Business Manager access, so everyone can do their job without sharing passwords.
Your Access Plan
Want your access set up safely for you?
See our Business Manager setup service →Permission names follow Meta's current business portfolio settings and may change over time. Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere.
How the Access Role Planner Works
Add each person who works on your Facebook Page or ads and choose what they do. The planner shows the access each person should get at the business, Page and ad account level, along with checks that flag common security gaps. When you are happy with the plan, copy it and share it with your team.
Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere, and the planner never asks for passwords or connects to your Meta account.
Full Control vs Partial Access
Full control lets a person manage everything in your business portfolio, including settings, payment methods and who has access. It should be limited to the owner and one or two trusted backups.
Partial access lets a person work only on the assets and tasks you assign, such as publishing posts, replying to messages or running campaigns. Most team members only ever need partial access.
Why You Should Never Share Your Login
When several people use one login from different devices and locations, it looks like a hacked account to Meta. It also means you cannot see who changed what, and you cannot remove one person without changing the password for everyone. Giving each person their own access solves all three problems.
How to Give an Agency Access the Right Way
Agencies should not be added as individual people. Instead, ask for their Business ID and add them as a Partner in your business settings. You can then share only the Page and ad account they need, and remove the whole agency in one step if you stop working together.
Access Best Practices
- Keep two or three people with full control, never just one.
- Give everyone else the lowest access they need to do their job.
- Require two-factor authentication for everyone.
- Review your access list every few months and remove people who no longer need it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many people should have full control?
Two or three is the safest number. One person creates a risk of being locked out, while too many increases the chance that an account is compromised.
Should I add my agency as a person or a partner?
As a partner. Adding the agency's business as a Partner keeps your access clean and lets you remove the whole agency at once when needed.
Is my team information saved?
No. Everything stays in your browser while the page is open and is cleared when you leave. Use the Copy plan button to keep a copy.
Are these the exact permission names in Meta?
They follow Meta's current business portfolio settings. Meta updates its menus from time to time, so the exact wording in your account may differ slightly.
